1972 Chrome Schwinn Paramount

The only bike that can possibly surpass Cinelli in terms of Jim's obsessiveness is the Schwinn Paramount. And that, of course, dates back to the very first magical ride on a friend's Paramount in 1972.  Before it was sold it was a regular rider along with another black Paramount not yet in this museum.  When originally acquired this chrome frame was in fantastic condition.  The only thing it needed was replacement of its decals which are still readily available.  Since it was meant to be a rider Jim replaced the original narrow Cinelli bars with wider Nitto bars which, in a limited sense, are a knock off of the Cinelli bars of that era.  It turns out that Ron also has a 1972 Chrome Paramount and together the bikes attracted quite a bit of attention at a century ride they did in Northern California in the early 2000's.  The bike was sold in 2024.
