This was actually Jim's 2nd addition to his collection. The1st was an '81 blue Colnago Super also here in the bike museum.  Although this may not be the first addition, it is possibly the most cherished.  Through an online acquaintance, in the late 1990's, Jim became aware of this Paramount that had been sitting in its original unopened box in the back of a bike shop that was liquidating its entire inventory.  And importantly, it was in his size since all Jim's vintage bikes are ultimately rideable.   He was thrilled to be able to buy it for merely 4 times its original $300 selling price in 1972.  After assembling it he decided to maintain its unique "never ridden" status for several reasons.  One of the reasons was that it allowed him to justify (sort of) the purchase of another Paramount in the future that could become more of an every day rider.
